Glass of Sunshine

How many of us can stay asleep once the sun is shining. I’m betting only vampires or night owls. Well you can think of this juice as a little glass of sunshine.

1 Grapefruit

1 Lemon

2 Navel Oranges

1 cup Pineapple Chunks

2″ Piece of Ginger

1 cup packed Mint

1 cup Water

If you are using a juicer for this recipe you can skip the water and just juice all the ingredients. When using  a blender you will need to take an extra step with your ginger to avoid having large chunks of ginger in your juice. Slice your ginger and heat your water, add the sliced ginger to your water and let it steep/infuse for about 5-10 minutes. Remove the ginger from your water before adding the water to your juice.

Will this be sour you ask? Yes, it will be sour, but that’s part of the goodness in it. That sour zing will get your eyes open and the blood flowing. Not to mention all the extra energy and metabolism boost you’ll get from all the citrus! If you make this juice the night before and let it sit the zing will mellow out some.
